Position Description:
This position reports to the Controller.
Responsibilities include:
Provide daily oversight of budget & purchasing card program for athletic department; reconcile travel reimbursement forms for team & recruiting trips to ensure compliance with department, university and NCAA regulations; reconcile official visit expenses, including host expenses to ensure compliance with department, university and NCAA regulations; serve as liaison between business office and athletic department; manage athletic ticketing system; assist with development of university budgets; manage financial operations at athletic events; daily bank transfers, spreadsheet imports, vendor setup, & journal entries; and other related duties.
Selection Criteria:
Requires a bachelor's degree related to accounting. Directly related experience preferred. Knowledge of MSU accounting procedures or accounts payable experience is preferred. Must have knowledge and experience in the use of PCs and application software (word processing, database management, spreadsheets). Prefer experience with MS-Word and MS-Excel. Prefer experience with PeopleSoft software. Requires excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with various types of people. Requires competent abilities in math and attention to detail in routine activities. Must be able to operate standard office equipment (copier, telephone, fax, etc.) The successful applicant must be able to make decisions based on personal judgment and experience. A criminal history background check must be satisfied prior to employment.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
