company headquartered in Grand Forks, ND has a January 2013 opening for a Civil Engineering Technician. EAPC provides architecture and engineering for commercial, medical, industrial/manufacturing clients as well as wind energy planning and design
services

The position would be primarily responsible for field/as-built data procurement, drafting of
land
development and utility projects using CivilCAD3d, AutoCAD for Architecture or other platforms as necessary using geo-referenced and non-referenced data as necessary. The position would also provide drafting using REVIT and AutoDESK for Architecture as part of a corporate-wide pool of Architectural and Structural CAD specialists. The position would report directly to the lead
civil engineer
in the respective office of employment.

The position is in either the Grand Forks, ND or Minot, ND office with preference being the Minot office.

The position would be an hourly, non-exempt position and would be eligible for overtime pay. Hourly wages are dependent on experience, previous work history, and office of employment.
Requirements:
Minimum level of qualifications include:
2-year Associate of Science Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field that allows for successful completion of the duties of the position
Desire to learn, grow, and expand their skill set as part of a team and on an individual level
Training and familiarity with CAD and drafting accurately for surveys, with knowledge of how to manipulate land surveying data into a digital surface model
Specific CAD training and working knowledge with CivilCAD3D and AutoCAD (2D and 3D methods) and programs
Training in the use of civil engineering design and drafting programs primarily in site design and urban design
Ability to adapt to CAD or REVIT modelling for structural or architectural drafting
Training and familiarity with surveying equipment and their use including electronic total station and conventional survey equipment
Training or experience in construction review and materials testing
Ability to work independently and willingness to learn new processes and procedures
Ability to progressively interact with clients and contractors with continued experience
Knowledge or training in Micro Station and Geopak programs typically used by state Departments of Transportation (ND, MN primarily) or Department of Defense is a plus.
A background or work experience in field construction is strongly preferred.
