Salary is based on the Composite Salary Schedule developed by Human Resource Managemen Services and allows up to three years of teaching exprience and corresponds with education level.
This a 9 month contracted position that includes full ND benefits.
Employment is contingent upon a clear criminal history background/record check.
This position serves and will be located in the Northwest Region (Minot area).
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Must hold or be eligible for appropriate educator licensure in the State of North Dakota.
Subject area endorsement or specialization, certified or willing to become certified as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired within 2 years.
Experience teaching/working with children (in an educational environment) with visual impairments and/or multiple disabilities including severe and profound disabilities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Summary of Work
Coordinate and provide vision related outreach services
Provide instructional and evaluative services to infants, preschoolers, students, and adults in the expanded core curriculum (i.e., Braille, orientation and mobility, vocational/career, technology, daily living skills, study skills, and recreation/leisure)
Consult with and provide vision specific technical assistance and training to persons who are blind and visually impaired, local educators, and rehabilitation and medical agencies
Participate in the development and implementation of IEP goals and objectives
Prepare assessment reports including appropriate adaptations and recommendations
Provide information, presentations and in-service training
Provide periodic instruction as part of center-based team as needed
Compile and enter monthly service data
Travel region wide weekly
